About
I am a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Chemistry at Rice University, where I study the molecular mechanisms underlying protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases. I got my Ph.D. from Protein Biophysics lab from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, where I investigated how post-translational modifications such as ubiquitination and SUMOylation regulate protein structure, stability, and phase separation. My current work focuses on α-synuclein, exploring how liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS) acts as an intermediate in its aggregation pathway. By combining biophysical, biochemical, and imaging tools, I aim to understand how these molecular processes contribute to disease and to guide the design of novel therapeutic strategies.
