About

I have been studying the protein quality control pathways in aging and age-related diseases in general. I am particularly interested in the aggregation and clearance of pathological proteins such as mutant huntingtin (mHTT) in cell models. The autophagy-lysosomal pathway, especially the lysosomal ion channel TRPML1 and transcription factor EB (TFEB), have been my main focus as potential pharmaceutical targets for clearing pathological protein aggregates.
