About
Dr. Shrikrishna Dattatraya Sartale is currently working as a Professor in the Department of Physics, Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. He obtained his Ph. D in Physics in 2002 from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. After Ph.D. he worked as an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow (visiting scientist) at Hahn Meitner Institute (now Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie) at Berlin, Germany. Later on, he worked as a Research Associate in National Central University, Taiwan. Before he joined Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2008 he was a NIMS Post-doctorate Fellow at National Institute for Materials Science, Japan. He was also invited to attend the Noble Laureate Meeting, Lindau, Germany. He is recipient of world renowned Alexander von Humboldt and Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowships. He is fellow of the Indian Chemical Society. He is life members of different societies like Institute of Physics, London, Chemical Research Society of India, Materials Research Society of India, Indian Physics Association, etc. He is joint secretary of Alexander von Humboldt Academy (Pune Chapter). He has about 100 research publications in reputed international journals to his credit. He delivered invited talks on several topics in many colleges, universities and institutes. Eleven students have obtained their M. Phil. degrees and three students have obtained Ph.D. under his guidance and about six students are working under his guidance. He has completed six research projects of worth of about ₹ 1Cr funded by different government agencies. His research interests include thin films and nanomaterials science and technology for different applications.
