About
I am a Scientist B at the Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET), Thrissur, under India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). My research covers two related areas: high-performance thermoelectric materials, and the recovery of critical minerals from waste streams.
In thermoelectrics, I work on Bi₂Te₃- and BiSbTe-based alloys, complex oxide systems, and flexible thermoelectric generators built on PET and paper substrates, with an emphasis on waste-heat and body-heat energy harvesting. In critical-mineral recovery, I develop hydrometallurgical routes to extract bismuth, tellurium, and tin from pharmaceutical, solder, and other industrial waste - an urban-mining approach to reducing import dependence on strategic materials.
I hold a PhD in Chemistry from Visvesvaraya Technological University, carried out at CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, with earlier research experience at IIT Madras, DRDO's Defence Laboratory Jodhpur, and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. My work includes 36 peer-reviewed journal articles (h-index 14), 5 book chapters, a granted Indian patent, and a completed DST-SERB Start-up Research Grant as Principal Investigator.
I'm happy to connect with researchers working on thermoelectric materials, flexible energy-harvesting devices, or sustainable metal recovery.
