About
I am Dr. Soumyabrata Mondal, a dedicated researcher with a strong academic background in geography, currently working as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). My research interests span poverty analysis, multidimensional deprivation, livelihood risk and vulnerability assessment, sustainable rural development, women’s empowerment, and gender studies. I hold a Ph.D. in Geography from BHU, where my doctoral research examined the interrelationship between rural transformation, livelihood risks, and poverty in West Bengal. I have also served as a Research Associate in the Department of Economics at BHU, contributing to major interdisciplinary projects on multidimensional poverty and socio-economic vulnerability. Across my academic and professional journey, I have built expertise in sustainable livelihoods, rural development, applied geography, and GIS-based socio-economic studies. I am deeply committed to producing research-driven insights that foster inclusive growth, gender-equitable development, and sustainable livelihood pathways. I remain open to collaboration in interdisciplinary research, policy analysis, and data-informed development planning. Let’s connect and explore meaningful opportunities in research and socio-economic development.
