About
Dr Ravi Maharaj is a graduate of the University of the West Indies and is a specialist surgeon having obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England as well as the Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons. He went on to undertake higher training in surgical oncology in Mumbai, India.
Dr Ravi Maharaj is currently a Consultant Surgeon at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Trinidad and a Senior Lecturer with the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of the West Indies. He is the Head of Department of Clinical Surgical Sciences at the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the University Examiner for the MBBS exam in Surgery. He has over 60 peer reviewed publications to date and the author of Textbook of Surgery for Medical Students.
Areas of research are cancers of hepatopancreatobiliary, gastrointestinal and mammary system.
