About

Dr. Ajay Kumar completed his M.Sc. in Life Sciences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. He completed his Ph.D. degree on the title “An investigation on the development of novel antitumor and chemosensitizing therapeutic strategies based on targeting crucial aspects of tumor metabolism by α-cyano-4-hydroxycinnamate and dichloroacetate” under the supervision of Prof Sukh Mahendra Singh from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. After obtaining his Ph.D. in 2013, he moved to the United States and did one year of postdoctoral training on the “role of lysophosphatidic acid on the progression of colon cancer” at School of Medicine, Emory University, Atlanta. After completing his postdoctoral training, he returned back to India in 2015 and continued his research in the field of tumor metabolism as a Dr. D.S. Kothari postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Rana Pratap Singh at School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, for four months. In the same year, he got an Assistant Professor position at Centre for Animal Sciences, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda and he was there for two and a half months. At the end of 2015, he joined as an Assistant Professor at Department of Zoology, Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Ajay Kumar published 15 research articles, 3 review article, and 9 book chapters in internationally recognized journals and publishers. He received DST early career award from Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi and Start-up Grant from University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
