PROFILE OF DR.VISHAL SAMARTHA

Dr. Vishal Samartha is the Director for the Masters in Business Administration-MBA Program at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru, which is an Autonomous institution affiliated to Visveswaraya Technology University, Belagavi, Karnataka, India. She has over 2 decades of experience in teaching and more than 15 years of experience in Research. She has several Scopus Indexed Publications of which one is a Q1 Scopus Publication published in November 2022 and presented papers in National and International conferences.
Dr. Vishal Samartha has Completed Short term training Program for faculties of different colleges Pan India with a funding of Rs.2,79,000 from AICTE-AQIS- 2021.
Another Major Project titled ‘Skill Assessment Training for Female students of UG Colleges to enhance their employability – A study in Dakshina Kannada District’ has been completed for a total amount of Rs.3,10,000 received by the Indian Council for Social Science Research, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. She has received another Project under the same agency Rs.5,90,000.00 alongwith her research scholar.
She is currently with an ongoing Major project and is the Principal Investigator for Rs.27,91,000.00, Project awarded for “Socio-Economic Development of Women Weavers’ Community in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts of Karnataka, Submitted under the TDUPW scheme under DSIR, Ministry of science and technology, New Delhi. The Project duration is two years and shall be completed in February 2024.
She has been the Member of the Board of Examiners in Business Administration of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi, India. She is the Chairman of the Board of studies and the Board of examiners at Sahyadri college. She was the member of the Local Inspection Committee for affiliation, extension of affiliation, and establishment of research centers of VTU affiliated engineering colleges. She is presently a Research guide under the VTU, and has 4 students pursuing their Doctoral studies and one has been awarded Doctorate. She holds several key positions in the college and is well known in the campus.
