Dr Monika Gupta is an Associate Professor in the Economics and Policy department at S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) with a PhD from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. Recently, she served as a Short-Term Consultant for the World Bank on a research project. With over a decade of experience in teaching and research, she has previously held the position of
Assistant Professor at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani. Her broad research interests encompass Development Economics, Environmental Economics and Policy, Sustainability issues, International Trade and Environmental Implications, Transport Economics, and interdisciplinary topics like System Dynamics Modelling and Community Entrepreneurship. Her research has been published in many peer-reviewed journals, including Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Transport Policy, Global Business Review, and the Journal of Cleaner Production. She has been awarded a gold medal for achieving the highest rank in her Master's in Economics and a Junior Reserach Fellowship. She has also received the prestigious Paul R. Lawrence Fellowship to participate in NACRA 2019, as well as fellowships from PwC and the System Dynamics Society to attend a workshop at MIT Sloan School of Management. Additionally, she won the Best Paper Award from Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XIMB) and WIPRO.
