About

Pintu Paul is an Assistant Professor at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad. His research focuses on family demography, child marriage, gender-based violence, maternal and child health, access to education, migration, informal labour, and gender issues. He holds an MPhil and a PhD in Geography from the Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Dr. Paul previously worked as a Senior Research Analyst at the Centre for Economic Data and Analysis, Ashoka University, and has also been associated with Aspire (A Society for Promotion of Inclusive and Relevant Education), the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Dr. Paul has authored several research papers published in internationally reputed social science journals, including Social Science & Medicine, SSM-Population Health, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and the Indian Journal of Human Development. He has also published op-eds on education, health, and migrant workers in popular magazines and newspapers like India Development Review, Ideas for India, The Indian Express, and Down To Earth.
