About
I am Dr. A. Aravinth, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Saveetha Medical College and Hospital, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. I completed my Ph.D. in Zoology (interdisciplinary focus on Marine Science) from Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu, India. My research primarily revolves around the isolation of secondary metabolites from marine organisms and the development of novel drug formulations, particularly for effective mosquito-larvicidal activity and the treatment of various diseases.
During my doctoral studies, I specialized in the identification of bioactive molecules and the extraction of active compounds from marine sources. I also focused on the synthesis of green nanoparticles derived from seaweeds and evaluated their mosquito-larvicidal, anticancer, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. My expertise extends to bioassay-guided fractionation and the application of advanced chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques such as GC-MS, HPLC, HPTLC, UV-visible, and FTIR.
Furthermore, I have a deep understanding of in vitro and in vivo research methodologies and am well-versed in the synthesis of green nanoparticles using seaweed extracts. I also focus on their structural characterization using FTIR, XRD, DLS, and SEM. My research further extends to the study of ADME properties and molecular docking of natural products, contributing to the development of effective therapeutic agents.
