About

Dr. Singh is an educator and researcher working at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, digital manufacturing, and product design, with a growing focus on sustainable engineering and emerging technologies. His work is driven by a strong interest in translating innovative engineering concepts into practical solutions for real-world challenges.
His research experience spans a broad range of advanced and non-traditional manufacturing processes, including Electrochemical Discharge Machining (ECDM), Electrochemical Machining (ECM), Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Ultrasonic Machining, Abrasive Flow Machining, robotic-enabled fluid jet polishing, and hybrid machining processes. His work also encompasses microfabrication, precision manufacturing, surface engineering, and the development of advanced manufacturing systems.
Dr. Singh completed his Master’s and Ph.D. at IIT Roorkee, where his doctoral research focused on Electrochemical Discharge Machining for microfabrication. He subsequently had the opportunity to work with IIT Bombay and Keio University, Japan, contributing to research in advanced manufacturing, precision finishing, and related emerging technologies. These experiences have strengthened his interdisciplinary perspective and enabled him to work across different aspects of manufacturing science and engineering.
His current research interests are expanding toward sustainability assessment of manufacturing processes, robotic-enabled manufacturing and adaptive manufacturing systems, digital and intelligent manufacturing, and the design and development of agricultural equipment. He is particularly interested in integrating engineering, automation, data-driven methods, and sustainability principles to develop manufacturing and product solutions that are efficient, adaptable, and socially and environmentally responsible.
Beyond his academic and research activities, Dr. Singh volunteers with Daat Foundation, contributing to initiatives related to child protection and digital well-being. He is also passionate about mentoring students and young researchers, encouraging them to approach engineering not only as a technical discipline but also as a means of addressing meaningful real-world problems.
