About

I am currently working as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellow (MSCA-PF, Grant Agreement No. 101109583), funded by the European Commission and hosted at the National Research Council (CNR) in Naples, Italy. This project mainly focuses on metagenomics to study microbial communities and probiotic-derived extracellular vesicles (PdEVs), investigating their impact on human health, particularly in the context of intestinal diseases. Also, I served for over four years as a Research Associate-III at the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) in New Delhi, India. During this period, I gained substantial experience in genomics, metabolomics, and machine learning (ML) approaches to derive integrative biological insights into pregnancy complications and birth defects, working within the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program. My PhD work was centred on human genetics, specifically exploring the roles of cytokines and vitamin D-associated genes in non-communicable diseases such as Type 1 diabetes, rheumatic heart disease, and breast cancer among South Indian populations. Throughout my research career, I have developed and applied advanced machine learning models to predict clinical outcomes using multi-omics datasets. I am proficient in R, Python, STATA, and a range of statistical and computational techniques. In addition to research, I have demonstrated strong capabilities in project management, experimental design and planning, grant and manuscript writing, and strategic support to principal investigators. I have actively contributed to the preparation of successful research proposals and peer-reviewed publications. My academic engagement extends to roles as a guest lecturer and scientific trainer, where I have delivered training sessions and seminars for students and early-career researchers. Moreover, I am committed to science communication and dissemination, with experience in presenting research outcomes to diverse audiences, including at international conferences and public outreach events.
