About
Dr V N Vijayakumar is holding academic qualification of BSc, B.Ed, M.Sc, M.Phil, PhD. Around 19 Yrs of teaching experience in Engineering colleges and has rich research experience in the field of liquid crystals (Condensed Matter Physics). I have filed more than 3 national patents in Liquid Crystals with credit of more than 60 international peer reviewed (SCI/Scopus) publications.
I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in physics in the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam, Tamilnadu. Presently, I am teaching Engineering physics, Applied Physics, Semiconductor physics & Opto-Electronics and Material Science to the engineering graduates. In the field of scientific research, I have received Young Scientist Fellowship (YSFS) award (twice).
As a Liquid Crystal (LC) researcher for more than 15 years in different institutions, I have acquired an in-depth understanding of LC process for various applications and thin films. I have hands-on experience with the characterization of LC like Optical extinction technique for optical Tilt angle measurement, Light Intensity measurement of mesophases (optical modulation), Field Induced Transitions (FiT) – Optical Shutter, Helical Pitch measurement in various liquid crystalline phases and Crystallization Kinetic studies. I also have a good academic back ground with more than 60 publications in internationally referred journals and about 20 papers in conferences.
