About
Hydrogeologist specialising in coastal groundwater systems, with a primary research focus on submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) and seawater intrusion (SWI). My work integrates hydrogeochemical analyses—including major ions, nutrients, trace elements (TEs), and rare earth elements (REEs)—to elucidate geochemical evolution, mixing processes, and salinisation pathways within coastal aquifers.
I employ isotopic tracers, particularly radon and radium, to quantify SGD fluxes and constrain groundwater residence times. My research further incorporates groundwater flow modelling and electrical resistivity surveys to delineate fresh and saline water interfaces, characterise groundwater–seawater interactions, and assess aquifer vulnerability.
Through multidisciplinary and process-based approaches, I seek to advance understanding of coastal aquifer dynamics, nutrient transport to marine environments, and the impacts of salinisation under evolving climatic and anthropogenic pressures.
