About

I am an experimental physicist specializing in nuclear and particle physics, with research experience spanning rare-event searches, radiation detection, detector characterization, statistical data analysis, and scientific computing. My research focuses on understanding the fundamental properties of neutrinos through searches for neutrinoless double beta decay.

During my PhD at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and Homi Bhabha National Institute, I worked on the TIN.TIN experiment, which investigates neutrinoless double beta decay in the isotope (^{124})Sn. My work involved gamma-ray, neutron, charged-particle, and cosmic-muon detection; radiation-background characterization; detector shielding design; muon-veto systems; and background-suppression techniques. I also developed expertise in experimental data analysis, Monte Carlo simulations, and detector instrumentation.

As a postdoctoral researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, I contributed to the LEGEND collaboration, an international effort searching for neutrinoless double beta decay using high-purity germanium detectors. My work focused on pulse-shape discrimination, detector characterization, statistical modeling, large-scale data analysis, and the development of analysis methods to improve detector performance and maximize physics sensitivity.

I am particularly interested in the intersection of detector physics, scientific computing, and advanced data-analysis techniques. My long-term goal is to contribute to the design and operation of next-generation experiments while leveraging modern statistical methods, artificial intelligence, and machine-learning tools to enhance scientific discovery.

Beyond research, I am passionate about science communication and public outreach. I have organized and delivered lectures, demonstrations, and educational programs for students and the general public, and I strongly believe that science has the power to inspire curiosity, inform society, and drive positive change. I enjoy communicating complex scientific ideas to diverse audiences and sharing the excitement of scientific exploration.
