About
I am Dr Ashish Bhatt. I received my PhD in Physical Sciences from the CSIR-NPL and the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), Ghaziabad, where my research focused on the development and metrological characterization of metal–carbon eutectic fixed-point sources for high-temperature thermometry and the realization of traceable temperature standards.
Currently, I am a Project Scientist-I in the Department of Temperature and Humidity Metrology at CSIR–National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), New Delhi, India.
My research interests include experimental physics, optical and thermal metrology, radiation thermometry, high-temperature thermometry, infrared sensing, optoelectronics, photonics, quantum metrology, semiconductor and thin-film materials, optical sensing, and precision measurement science. I am particularly interested in developing advanced optical measurement techniques and photonic technologies for accurate temperature measurement, sensor development, and industrial applications.
My research has involved the development and characterization of metal–carbon eutectic fixed-point cells, measurement uncertainty analysis following the GUM framework, calibration methodologies, optical instrumentation, and infrared detector characterization. I have experience with thin-film deposition and material characterization techniques, including XRD, SEM, and FTIR, as well as experimental data acquisition and analysis using Python, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.
I have published research articles in peer-reviewed international journals, including the Journal of Alloys and Compounds, International Journal of Thermophysics, MAPAN, and the ECS Journal of Solid State Science and Technology. My current work focuses on advancing precision optical thermometry, radiation thermometry, photonic measurement systems, and quantum-enabled metrology for applications in advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, and next-generation sensing technologies.
I am always interested in collaborative research in optical metrology, photonics, optoelectronics, semiconductor devices, and precision measurement science.
