About
I had my Master Degree in Mathematics (Applied Stream) from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India in the year 1995. In Masters my specialization was Fluid Mechanics, which includes viscous flow-boundary layer theory and Dynamical Oceanography. In the year 2003 I received my PhD degree from Jadavpur University, Calcutta and the thesis-title was “Response of an ocean of finite depth to disturbances generated on the surface”. For the last few years I have been working on waves which are generated by seismic disturbances with emphasis on dynamics of tsunami waves. As an Associate Professor of Mathematics I teach both at UG and PG level students, my teaching experience is 22+ years and research experience is over 24 years. I visited countries both in Europe and Asia for collaborative research and also for attending conferences.
