Dr. Naveen. B.P. is currently working as a Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at the National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training & Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.
He completed his B.E(Civil Engineering) from the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE), Bangalore., M.Tech (Geotechnical Engineering) from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, M.S (Geotechnical Engineering), Ph.D. & Postdoctoral(Geotechnical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Also, Chartered Engineers from the Institution of Engineers (India).
A Dynamic, committed, and results-driven professional, with over 18 years of diverse and progressive experience in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Geo-Environmental Engineering, Metro works, Waste Management, and Ground Improvement. His work has been recognized by Aqua Foundation's Academic Excellence Award for Solid Waste Management in 2016 and the Oasys Project of the Year 2016. He was also a recipient of the ISSMGE Foundation Award, Centre for International Co-operation in Science (CICS), Young Researcher and Scholar Icon-2017 Award, Young Educator, and Scholar Award 2017 & 2018, IEI Young Engineers Award, Professional Excellence Award, Sir M Visvesvaraya Award and recipient of many other awards.
His Ph. Ph.D. thesis is referred by Bruhat Bengaluru Mahangara Palike (BBMP) and Karnataka State Pollution Control Board for the reopening of the Mavallipura landfill. He served as a Resource Person and Taught for regular Ph.D. Students on the topic entitled " Solid Waste Management" at the Centre for Nano and Soft Material Science (CeNS) research institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India & NLD Training Institute, Bhutan. Also, he handled the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) accreditation. He also reviewed papers for many International Journals and Conferences. He also has many articles in local newspapers & websites on topics useful for society.
He is the Chief Editor of one international Journal in his area of research. He has also collaborated on research with different groups and research centers during his academic career. He is a Geotechnical Consultant for the Conversion of a Meter Gauge Line into a Dual Gauge Line from the Parbatipur to Kaunia Section of the Bangladesh Railway & Surat Metro Projects. He has overseas working experience having worked in Bangladesh, Kenya, Japan, and USA.
