About

Prof.(Dr.) Kawal Gill holds a Ph.D. degree in International Business from Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. At present, she is a Professor, Department of Commerce at Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi.

With over 35 years of UG and PG teaching experience, she has thirty six publications to her credit including twenty four research papers, four books and eight book chapters, published in national and international journals. She has been awarded three Research Excellence accolades in appreciation of her exceptional research contribution in the form of publications in renowned international journals in 2023. She has presented papers in over 30 international and national conferences .She has won two best paper awards in International conferences held in 2022 and one in 2024. She has supervised three MPhil students and 150 research projects of Postgraduate students. She has completed four research projects sponsored and funded by organisations like UGC, University of Delhi and Centre of Excellence, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi.She is currently investigating a fifth research project as PI on Digital Competence of Young India: Antecedents and Outcomes. She is supervising one Ph.D student currently.

To add to existing teaching pedagogies, she has been actively engaged in developing and coordinating e content for postgraduate courses under e- PG Pathshala, NME-ICT Project of MHRD. Prior to this, she was appointed as a Fellow in Commerce by Institute of Life Long Learning, University of Delhi to develop e content in undergraduate courses in Commerce.

To enhance the corporate image and improve the public perception of the college, she, as the director Internal Quality Assurance cell (IQAC), was instrumental in taking various initiatives to improve the overall governance of the college. To strengthen college-university-industry linkages, she, as a convener of Seminar Society has organised twenty two national/international, conferences/ seminars/conventions on contemporary themes. She also has a long track record of holding various administrative positions in the college. She is member editorial committee, Journal of Business Thought, indexed in UGC CARE List Group I and ranked C in the ABDC Journal Quality List (2022).

She has been awarded a Distinguished Women award in Commerce by Venus International Women Awards (VIWA) on March 7th 2020.
