About
Combines the competencies of a histologist, a cell biologist and a oral surgeon, which is associated with experience and achievements in the field of scientific, educational and practical activities. Has experience in educational activities in the field of pathological anatomy (including in English), biostatistics and surgical dentistry, which is confirmed by a number of published textbooks and atlases.
Is a member of 4 expert communities: 2 dissertation councils (cell biology; dentistry), a member of expert corps of the Russian Academy of Sciences and an expert of Roszdravnadzor in the field of medical product turnover.
As a result of scientific activity studied the effect of peripheral opioids on the reparative regeneration of bone tissue. Using new approaches to histomorphometry, he showed that stimulation of opioid receptors inhibits osteogenesis due to the ability of opioids to stimulate proliferation and suppress the differentiation of progenitor cells [Vasiliev et al., 2012, 2013, 2014 a, b,c,d, 2016]. Developed a mathematical model for morphometry and approximation of cylindrical objects [Vasiliev, 2020].
Developed a new class of curable and osteoinductive bone-plastic materials based on chitosan and collagen hydrogels and studied their physico-mechanical and biological properties in vitro and in vivo [Vasiliev et al., 2019, 2020 a,b, 2021 a,b]. Continues to actively work in the field of the development of activated bone-plastic materials. Led research on the development of gene therapy methods based on adenoviral constructs carrying the BMP-2 gene for bone regeneration and is the main performer of the topic related to the production of personalized and osteoinductive bone and plastic materials obtained by 3D printing.
