About
Tania J. Rose (she/they) is a neurodivergent researcher, psychotherapist, arts therapist, educator and creative practitioner based in Sydney, Australia. They are currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Sydney examining the workplace wellbeing of creative practitioners facilitating arts practices with people with intellectual disability and cognitive differences. Tania’s research is grounded in a disability-rights and neurodiversity-affirming framework, with particular attention to how working conditions, structures and cultures shape both practitioner wellbeing and the quality of disability arts programs.
With more than 35 years’ experience in the creative arts and disability arts, alongside roles in education and psychotherapeutic practice, Tania works explicitly from a lived-experience positionality as a neurodivergent practitioner. Their practice foregrounds the knowledge and priorities of disabled and neurodivergent people, and seeks to bridge scholarship, clinical work and creative practice. In private practice, Tania is a neurodiversity-affirming psychotherapist and clinical supervisor, supporting practitioners who are themselves neurodivergent and/or working with neurodivergent clients.
Across research, supervision and creative work, Tania is committed to accessible, inclusive and practice-relevant outputs that can inform policy, service design and everyday practice in disability and arts contexts.
