About
Shitij Kumar is currently a Robotics Engineer at Dexterity, Inc. developing robotics solutions to improve logistics and supply-chain in the warehousing industry. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Engineering in early 2020 from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he also received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 2014. There he worked as a teaching and research assistant at the Multi-Agent Biorobotics Laboratory. During his Ph.D., he led the development of the first human-robot collaboration (HRC) lab at RIT under the supervision of his advisor Dr. Ferat Sahin. He worked on research addressing challenges of human safety, trust-in-automation, level of human-robot interaction, and productivity in the field of HRC in industry. During his Masters, he worked on Brain-Computer Interfaces and studied Machine Learning techniques both supervised and unsupervised and their applications in Assistive Technologies.
