Dr. N. Karunakaran holds a Doctorate Degree in Economics from Kannur University, Kerala; Post Graduation in Economics from Calicut University; Post Graduation in Philosophy from Pondicherry Central University. He also has B. Ed and M. Ed Degree with 33 years of teaching experience at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level and presented papers in National and International seminars, conferences and workshops and is a recipient of Doctor of Letters (D. Litt) Award, International Outstanding Faculty award, International Best Educationist Award, International Best Education Excellence Award, Highest Research Article Publication Award, Bharat Excellence Award, Leading Educationist of India Award, Excellent Researcher Award, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Award, Best Reviewer Awards, Best Author Awards and Best Editors Awards. He is a life member of Indian Economic Association, Agricultural Economics Research Association, New Delhi, Institute of Economics and Social Development, Jharkhand, Kerala Economics Association and Associate Editor and Editorial Board member of various international journals, books and organized various seminars, workshops and talks. He is an approved Ph. D Guide in Economics (produced a number of PhD) and published books and a number of articles in the reputed UGC CARE/Scopus indexed/Web of Science/UGC Listed/Peer-reviewed international journals and edited books. He was also the chairman of the Board of Examiners and question paper setters and member of Economics Board of studies of Universities in Kerala.
