About

Dr. Malay Shukla is a forensic geneticist with research interests spanning Wildlife Forensics; human identification, population genetics, and the application of advanced sequencing technologies in forensic science. His work integrates short tandem repeats (STRs), Y‑chromosome markers, mitochondrial DNA, and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) to enhance the resolution of DNA profiling. He is actively contributing to the development of genetic/genomic data for mitochondrial genome analysis and whole genome sequencing, with applications in forensics and advancing disaster victim identification and wider applications of forensic genetic genealogy and ancestry analysis. His research also extends to forensic anthropology, craniofacial reconstruction, and age estimation using dental and skeletal markers, bridging molecular genetics with applied forensic investigations.
