About
Born on 01.01.1954 in Kolkata, India, I did my graduation in biology with Zoology as the major from the University of Calcutta in 1974, ranked first and earned a national scholarship. My Ph.D. research was on taxonomy and ecology of insect bugs of Himalayas; took up teaching and research as profession at Tripura University since 1981 and pursued this career till 31.12.2018; awarded Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship in UK during 1989-90, Visiting Scientists under bilateral exchange program of The Royal Society, London in 1998 and 2004, and awarded International Visiting Scientist of Japanese Ministry of Science at Yamagata University in 2000; worked as Pro-Vice Chancellor of Tripura University during 2009-2013; research specialization: insect taxonomy, ecology, behavior, biodiversity, and evolutionary biology; worked as the Chairman, Tripura State Pollution Control Board, Agartala, Tripura, India between 01.01.2019 and 01.11.2022.
