About

Public mental health researcher–practitioner with interdisciplinary training in epidemiology, public health, mental health, and applied psychology, and nearly 15 years of experience spanning large-scale field research, psychotherapy, psychiatric rehabilitation, and statutory child protection in India.

My work has taken me across clinical settings, rural communities, and government systems responsible for child protection. Across these contexts, I have worked with mothers experiencing psychological distress, individuals with severe mental illness, children in need of care and protection, and communities with limited access to mental health services.

My research interests include maternal mental health and child development; clinical psychology and therapeutic processes; psychiatric rehabilitation; child protection systems; and community mental health, with a focus on the implementation and evaluation of interventions in low-resource settings.

I bring together research evidence, clinical understanding, and field experience to address complex public mental health challenges — from understanding needs in underserved communities to supporting systems and programmes designed to improve access, quality, and impact.

I am committed to strengthening the next generation of psychologists and mental health professionals by encouraging critical thinking, contextual practice, and meaningful contributions through research, direct practice, and knowledge generation.
