Dr. Sanjay Sood is a globally acclaimed digital health innovator and visionary leader with over two decades of transformative contributions to the field of telemedicine. Renowned for his expertise, he has successfully conceptualised and implemented population-scale telemedicine platforms, establishing them as vital digital public goods that enhance healthcare accessibility and equity.

As the Project Director of eSanjeevani, India’s National Telemedicine Service, Dr. Sood leads the world’s largest telemedicine initiative in primary healthcare. This groundbreaking platform, recognised as a digital public good, has revolutionised healthcare delivery, serving over 325 million patients across India. Additionally, he is spearheading the development of the Heal in India portal, a flagship initiative designed to position India as a global leader in medical value travel.

A former telemedicine consultant to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr. Sood collaborates extensively with policymakers, health administrators, multilateral agencies, and development organisations to shape transformative digital health policies and practices. Currently, he is associated with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), India, where he drives pioneering digital health innovations that impact millions.

Dr. Sood has authored over 50 influential publications and has been honoured with numerous prestigious accolades. These include the Digital India Award 2020 from the President of India for eSanjeevani and the Innovation Leader Award from the HIMSS Future50 Class of 2021. His steadfast commitment to advancing digital health as a digital public good continues to inspire global innovation and drive impactful change.
