About

I am a Public Health Researcher working at the intersection of gender-based violence, migration-related precarity, and mental health in urban contexts. I currently serve as a Quantitative Researcher & Country Coordinator for GEMMS India (Gendered Violence and Poor Mental Health among Migrants in Precarious Situations) and am a member of the project’s global Governance Group.
In this role, I support quantitative research, field operations, and data management. As Co-Lead for GEMMS Data Management, I contributed to the development of the project’s data protection and management strategy and supported compliance processes across sites.
I co-developed the GEMMS quantitative survey tool assessing gendered violence and mental health among migrants in precarious conditions and have led the training of field enumerators in trauma-informed data collection and distress management protocols. My current research examines the intersections of gender-based violence, migration-related precarity, and mental health, with a focus on community-validated research tools and ethically grounded, participatory interventions.
I hold a PhD in Health Systems from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, where my doctoral research examined care work, migration, and health systems. Prior to GEMMS, I worked as a Senior Research Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
My work has been published in PLOS Global Public Health, BMJ Open, and BMJ Global Health. I currently serve as Assistant Editor for Health Policy at South Asia Research (SAGE Journals).
