Dr. Abhishek Kumar Gupta is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur, India. He obtained his Ph.D. (2014) from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi specializing in Solid State Ionics and Materials Science.
Dr. Gupta has over 15 years of research and teaching experience. His research focuses on materials for energy storage and conversion applications, solid electrolytes, electrodes and catalysts for energy storage devices, including the experimental synthesis and characterization of materials for batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells, solar cells and sensors along with computational simulation and modeling. He has published over 55 research papers in reputed international journals and has authored several book chapters.
Prior to his current position, Dr. Gupta served as an Assistant Professor, Selection Scale and then after on Senior Scale at Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur. He was also a UGC- Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Delhi, New Delhi.
Throughout his career, Dr. Gupta has received several awards and honors, including the Young Scientist Award at National Solid State Ionics Conference. He has supervised multiple Ph.D. students (3 awarded and 4 ongoing) and over 20 Master/Postgraduate dissertations.
Dr. Gupta is actively involved in organizing conferences, workshops and faculty development programs. He has delivered invited talks at various national and international conferences. His expertise spans experimental techniques as well as computational modeling of materials for energy applications.
With a strong commitment to both research and teaching, Dr. Gupta continues to contribute significantly to the field of Materials Science and Solid State Ionics, with a focus on developing advanced materials for next-generation energy storage and conversion devices.
