In early last year (2013), Dr Jaseja had invented and published a new therapeutic electrical stimulation technique for patients with intractable epilepsy (Pedunculopontine nucleus stimulation), claimed to be highly effective on the basis of its property to enhance and strengthen the body’s inherent anti-epileptic potential. Cerebral Palsy is a neurological disorder of paramount national socio-economic concern with several spastic societies, both in Government and non-Government sectors. Dr Jaseja has proposed and published an EEG-based additional novel guideline in the management protocol of patients with Cerebral Palsy for their improved prognosis and quality of life and also shown the efficacy of Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS) in such patients.
He has initiated an International debate on the epileptogenic potential of Meditation evidenced by the large number of International publications in the period 2005-2010.
Interestingly, he has shown that the Indian traditional application of Shoe-smell in Epilepsy has a sound scientific basis, thus highlighting the scientific approach in Indian traditional remedial measures.
