About
I, Kaushik Kundu have been working as Research Fellow (initially JRF and after two years SRF) in Surface and Colloid Science Laboratory, Geological Studies Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata (India) since August 2008 under supervision of Professor Bidyut K. Paul. I was involved in Formation and Characterization of Mixed Surfactant derived Conventional and Biocompatible Microemulsions/Reverse Micelles during last five years or so. In addition, I have been engaged in another project, Formation and Characterization of Ionic Liquid based Microemulsions/Reverse Micelles during one and half years. I have submitted my doctoral dissertation entitled, Physicochemical Studies of Single and Mixed Surfactants Microemulsions/Reverse Micelles based on Hydrocarbon and Biocompatible Oils to Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India on 3rd February, 2014 for the award of Doctor of Philosophy (Science-Regn.Index No.: 113/10/Chem./20, Dt. 21/06/10). Recently, I have a seminar to defense my doctoral thesis on 25th September, 2014. I have published thirteen number of papers in journals of internationally reputed. Also, two book chapters under John Wiley & Sons. Publications are in press. I have completed my B. Sc and M. Sc degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. I completed a short term research project under M.Sc. curriculum under the guidance of Professor Kaushik Das on the topic entitled “Interactions in Starch-Iodine Complex: Electrochemical and Spectral Studies” in Department of Chemistry, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, which was published on The Icfai University Journal of Chemistry (Editor: Murthy, E. N.), Vol. 1, December 2008. I have presented a couple of papers in national conference(s) with distinction. I also have presented papers in three international conferences [viz. “Colloids and Nanomedicine 2012 Conference” from 15th July to 17th July, 2012 organized by Elsevier in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; “The Biennial Australian Colloid and Interface Symposium (ACIS 2013)” from 3rd February to 7th February, 2013 organized by University of South Australia in Noosa, Queensland, Australia and "UK Colloids 2014" from 6th July to 9th July, 2014 jointly organized by the RSC Colloid and Interface Science Group and the SCI Colloid and Surface Chemistry Group].
