About
I have well experience in Ionic Liquid based metal ion separation from various waste stream by solvent extraction route. I hold the expertise on the synthesis of new ionic liquids/functionalized ionic liquids and their application towards the selective separation of target metal ion from its mixture with other metal ions present in the bulk. Solvent extraction and ion exchange method of separation of actinides and fission products from the spent nuclear fuel. Apart from this, I have good expertise on the spectroscopic analysis (Luminescence, FTIR, Raman, UV-Visible, etc.) of metal - ligand coordination chemistry. Electrochemistry of metal ions in ionic liquid electrolytes is another research domain where I am also active. Recently I am active in designing novel Hydrophobic Deep Eutectic Solvents (HDES) to explore their solvent properties for metal ion recovery through solvent extraction/electrochemical route.
