Vice Chancellor, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishvidayalaya,Indore, Former Dean of the School of Sciences at ITM University, Gwalior. Having over 25 years of experience in teaching, administration and research, emerged as an accomplished academician, researcher, and institution builder. Contributed significantly to policymaking and process development for execution for the overall growth of the Institution under various capacities, such as Dean of Student Welfare, Dean of Research and Development (2013-2017) and Dean of International Cooperation and Projects (2017-2022) at ITM Universe.
Member of various constitutional bodies of the University: Board of Management, Academic Council, Board of Studies etc. Involved in various quality assignments for the University, coordinated the NAAC committee for criteria 6, and served on steering committees for NIRF, NAAC UGC inspection, and IQAC.
As a member of editorial boards/reviewers of reputed journals such as ACS, Elsevier, and Springer, I am also a member of many professional bodies such as the International/National Societies CMI, American Chemical Society: US; Royal Society of Chemistry: London, INPOSO, ISTE, IACS Institute of Nanotechnology, Electrochemistry forum, etc.
As an institution builder, instrumental in the establishment and development of academic institutes, departments, centers, and research facilities under various capacities. One of my notable achievements includes the establishment of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research Facilities at ITM University in Gwalior. This centre has emerged as a premier facility for interdisciplinary research, attracting researchers from diverse fields to collaborate on cutting-edge research projects. I established and nurtured a Nano research group that has garnered a reputation as one of the leading groups in the field of synthesis and characterization of chalcogenides, metal oxide core-shell nanocomposites, and nanostructures for optoelectronic and sensor applications. The research group has achieved significant milestones and has been successful in publishing numerous papers in top-tier international journals, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the field. This research group has published numerous papers in top-tier international journals and has provided internships and skill development opportunities to numerous students. In addition to research excellence, the Nano research group has also been dedicated to providing internships and skill development opportunities to numerous students. By actively involving students in research projects, the group has not only nurtured their interest in interdisciplinary research but also equipped them with valuable skills and knowledge that will contribute to their future careers.
Contribution since its inception of the ITM University have played a pivotal role in developing processes and policies that have greatly contributed to its growth and success. From the early stages, actively participated in shaping the institution's vision and mission, ensuring that they aligned with the goals of academic excellence, innovation, and student-centricity. Through my expertise and commitment, I have successfully guided the university through accreditation processes, enabling it to achieve recognition and accreditation from esteemed regulatory bodies and organizations.
In recognition of my research contributions: received the AICTE Young Teacher Career Award for the year 2010, carried out collaborative research with Prof. P O Brien, Director of Material Science at the University of Manchester, UK, and Dr. Mohammad Azad Malik, Senior Research Fellow at the School of Materials at the University of Manchester, UK, on core-shell synthesis of various optoelectronic materials. Completed five research projects with funding from IUAC Delhi, AICTE, and MPCST, leading an international trilateral ASEAN DST research project in collaboration with LIPI, Indonesia, and DRI, Myanmar, aimed at developing photocatalysts. Mobilized approximately 8 million rupees in grants. Published more than 60 research papers in various referred journals/proceedings and presented 40 papers in various national/international seminars/symposia. Co-author of book chapters, Labs/consultant to various organizations, supervisor of doctoral work. Invited speaker at several national and international conferences in India and abroad.
