Professor (Dr.) Mandeep Mittal has over 26 years of experience in higher education and currently serves as Professor and Head, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Bennett University (The Times Group), Greater Noida, India. Prior to this, he served for three years as Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics in the School of Computer Science, Engineering, and Technology (SCSET) at Bennett University. He also serves as the Deputy Chief Proctor of the University.
Professor Mittal completed his Post-Doctoral Research in South Korea, earned his Ph.D. from the University of Delhi, and obtained his Master's degree from IIT Roorkee.
His research interests include inventory optimization, sustainable supply chain management, artificial intelligence, machine learning, operations research, fuzzy optimization, and decision sciences. He has published more than 140 research articles in reputed international journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters. He has authored and edited 10 books with renowned international publishers, including Springer, and serves as the Series Editor of the Inventory Optimization book series published by Springer Singapore.
Professor Mittal has successfully supervised 11 Ph.D. scholars who have been awarded their doctoral degrees and is currently supervising eight Ph.D. scholars in the areas of inventory optimization, sustainable operations, artificial intelligence, and operations research.
Since 2023, he has been serving as the Chair of the IEEE International Conference organized at Bennett University, leading the successful planning and execution of the conference while fostering collaborations among researchers, academicians, and industry experts from around the world.
At the university level, Professor Mittal also serves as the Coursera Program In-charge, where he oversees the strategic planning, optimal allocation, and management of more than 4,000 Coursera licenses across multiple schools and departments. He plays a key role in maximizing license utilization, enhancing digital learning opportunities, and promoting skill development among students and faculty.
Before joining Bennett University, he served as the Head of the Department of Mathematics and Dean of Student Activities at the Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University, Delhi/Noida Campus.
Professor Mittal has held several important academic and administrative leadership positions throughout his career and continues to contribute actively to teaching, research, institutional development, academic governance, innovation, and interdisciplinary research in engineering, management, and applied sciences.
