I am presently serving as an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science, Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, W.B. In addition, I am the Coordinator of the Centre for Environmental Studies, Vidyasagar University. I am also associated with various administrative and advisory positions of the University.
I have completed my Ph.D., M.Phil and M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Kalyani University. I served the position of University JRF-SRF in Kalyani University and Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata. After submitting my thesis, I worked as guest faculty in Environmental Science department of Kanchrapara College and Nabadwip Vidyasagar College, before joining VU as Assistant Professor. My research interests mainly include different stress reactions of ionizing radiation on plants; Environmental stress and impact analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment, Monitoring and management of environmental pollutions and climate change, and various others. I am also associated with the Central Government’s “Namami Ganga Project”. I am actively involved in research that may be evidenced by my recent publications. I have published around 60 research papers and book chapters, participated in around 35 national and international seminars, and guided around 50 M.Sc and M.Phil. Dissertations. I am reviewing many international journals regularly.
Besides these, I received awards and accolades from both at the national and international levels for my academic contributions. In addition, I am a member of several research organizations and NGOs working on different environmental problems.
