Dr Sudesh Kumar is working as an Associate Professor in Chemistry with the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics at the National Institute of Education, National Council of Educational Research and Training, New Delhi, since December 27, 2023.
He established a Microchemistry lab for school-level and bachelor's-level students at Banasthali Vidyapith in 2018.
His area of research includes Corrosion Chemistry, Heterocyclic Chemistry, Polymer Degradation, and the Advanced Oxidation Process for Waste Management and Water Chemistry.
He has translated 04 books for online education as a part of the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL). Additionally, he has served as the Environmental Auditor Team Leader, nominated by the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, since 2023. He is also a member of the science textbook development team (TDT) for grades 7-10, and Co-coordinator of the Chemistry textbook development team (TDT) for grades 11-12, at NCERT. As a resource person, he has organised 18 Faculty Development Programmes, workshops, Conferences, symposia, and Seminars and delivered 22 Invited Lectures.
He has over 87 research papers in indexed journals, 36 book chapters, 4 books, 02 Bridge Course Books and 7 Major research and Consultancy projects to his credit.
Dr Kumar has 14 National and International processes and design patents in solar energy, water purification systems, Agriculture, Artificial intelligence, and trash-to-transformation projects.
He is the coordinator of the national-level programme, i.e., Rashtriya Avishkar Saptah.
