Executed external funded research projects which include NAIP 2273.9 Lakhs; India –UK 100.6 Lakhs; Outreach 71.0 Lakhs NAE 121.0 Lakhs; ICAR-ILRI 75.0 Lakhs; Network 60.0 Lakhs etc. with total fund support of ₹ 2742.5 Lakhs for conducting research in high priority area of Diagnostics for Animal Health, Food Safety, AMR, Zoonotic Pathogens, Monitoring/Surveillance of Environmental Pollutants & Contaminants.

Biosensors (POCs) tests were developed for detection of Mastitis, L. monocytogenes, Coliform, Enterococci, AMR Pathogens (E. coli). Kits were developed using spores as biosensor for antibiotics, pesticides, heavy metal, aflatoxin M1. Work was carried out on AMR surveillance and concept was developed for detection of antibiotic resistant E.coli. These Innovations were protected through grant of 8 patents and 2 were published. Technologies were licensed & commercialized for field application with revenue generation of ₹ 68.0 Lakhs. Two technologies on antibiotic, /Pesticides were incubated at NRC as Start-Ups to entrepreneurs through SINE-TBI.

Infrastructure facility on National Referral Centre on Milk Quality & Safety was created with BSL-3 lab for conducting research on Diagnostic for Animal health, AMR, Food Safety, Zoonotic Pathogens and Monitoring and Surveillance work on AMR and Antibiotics/Pesticides/ Aflatoxins. Referral Lab is providing R&D platform and analytical services for industry and other stakeholders including FSSAI. The NRC is NABL accredited with ISO: 17025: 2017/approved in Gazette of FSSAI as referral/reference centre and generated revenue of 1.25 Crores. A new discipline on Food Safety & Quality Assurance was started as PG course to meet the growing demand of industry.

The achievements were recognized through NAAS fellow award 2020 conferred by NAAS; Biotech Product & Process Development & Commercialization" award 2020 conferred by DBT, NADSI Fellow awards 2014; Represented Indian delegation team member in codex meeting at Minneapolis, USA in 2013 & attended ICAR-ILRI project workshop at Nairobi in 2018. Work was recognized by various prestigious organization as a member of various scientific committee in FSSAI (bio-hazard, pesticide/antibiotic panel), ILRI/ CSE/ FAO for AMR work; BIS/ codex/ shadow committee/AOAC international, ITMC, IRC, IBSc, Board of Management at ICAR-NDRI; TSEC/TEC member, Panelist -NEP2020 for contribution in institute building.

The new knowledge (IPs) created in the field of biosensor(s) and Animal Health/ Food Safety were disseminated through various teaching courses in specialized field of Food Safety & Quality Assurance to UG/PG students & Guided 11 Ph.D and 23 M.Tech /M.Sc. with 2 best thesis & 8 poster awards. The scientific knowledge was published in > 50 peer reviewed journals, 150 articles including policy papers, book chapters, training manuals, popular articles, bulletin, invited lead /oral lectures /poster presentations in conferences /seminars, workshops etc. HRD development programme was carried as course director in the area of FSQA for industry, regulators, farmers, FBO, Entrepreneurs, Faculty working in University as CAFT courses /consultancy.
