About
Dr. Biswajit Nath received his Ph.D. Degree in Cartography and Geography Information System from Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI) (former), Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR-CAS) (presently), University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, China in Jan 2019. He joined as a Faculty Member (Professor) in the Dept. of Geography and Environmental Studies, University of Chittagong, Chittagong, Bangladesh on 14 July 2023 and currently continues. Before that, Dr. Nath served in the same department from 9 April 2011 to 6 August 2013 as a Lecturer and Assistant Professor from 7 August 2013 to 27 September 2019 and Associate Professor from 28 September to 13 July 2023. He had a professional work experience in the field of GIS and RS from India and Bangladesh. His present research interest focuses on Applied Remote Sensing and GIS, Early forecasting of multiple geo-hazards and their associated change study, Geophysical, Atmospheric, and Meteorological coupling, Drone Applications, Landscape Risk Monitoring; Geo-statistical applications and Digital Photogrammetry. Recently, Dr. Nath received a Berkner Fellowship Grant (as an Early Career Scientist) for three years (2021~2023) from the American Geophysical Union (AGU), USA to participate in the upcoming Scientific Conferences/Workshop. Dr. Nath has published 39 research papers and 1 book chapter in the international reputed peer-reviewed journals and book till date and voluntarily served as an Invited Reviewer for several prestigious journals i.e., Plos One, Journal of Earth System Science (JESS), Geomatics, Natural Hazards and Risk, Physical Geography by Taylor and Francis, Transactions in GIS, International Journal of Remote Sensing (IJRS), Journal of Applied Remote Sensing (JARS), Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing, Geocarto International, Transactions in GIS, and Remote Sensing, Land, Geosciences, Sustainability, Horticulturae by MDPI, Earth and Planetary Science, etc. He can be reached and communicated by email at: [email protected].
