Dr Madhabendra Sinha is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics & Politics, Visva-Bharati (A Central University & an institution of national importance), Santiniketan, India; and prior to that he served as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Administration, Raiganj University, West Bengal, India. He has been a Senior Research Fellow and PhD in Economics at National Institute of Technology Durgapur, India. He obtained MSc and MPhil in Economics from the University of Calcutta, India, and also qualified UGC NET in Economics. His research interests include development economics, open economy macroeconomics and applied econometrics. He has credits of research publications in reputed journals including the Journal of Policy Modeling (Elsevier), Social Indicators Research (Springer), Economic Papers (Wiley), Asian Development Review (World Scientific), Studies in Economics and Finance (Emerald), Global Business Review (Sage), Applied Intelligence (Springer), Poverty and Public Policy (Wiley), Journal of Asian and African Studies (Sage), Margin: JAER (Sage), The Indian Economic Journal (Sage), International Journal of Education Economics and Development (Inderscience) etc. He has conducted research / consultancy projects of ICSSR, Government of India (2025-2027), Asian Development Bank (2024) and St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous) Kolkata (2024-2025). He contributed a number of book chapters published by Springer, Routledge, Palgrave, Emerald, IGI Global etc. He has participated in several workshops, and presented research papers in various conferences and seminars organized by World Bank, ADB, IGC, BI-APAEA, IITs, IIMs, ISI, DSE, IIFT, BIBM & UNCDF, RIS-EXIM Bank etc. in India, Japan, France, China and other countries. He acted as reviewers of different journals published by Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, Emerald, Sage, PLOS ONE and Inderscience. He has been an Editor of a book volume published by Springer Singapore and currently he acts as an academic Editor of PLOS ONE (Scopus & SCIE) and an editorial board member of Humanities & Social Sciences Communications (Springer, Scopus & SSCI). He has one patent registered with the Patent Office, Government of India. He has guided Master’s dissertations of 8 students, 1 candidate has been awarded PhD degree under his supervision; and currently he is supervising 3 PhD candidates. He organized a number of workshops and conferences on research methodology and other topics, and gave invited lectures in IIT and different (central and state) universities.
