About
I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. I did my M. Tech. in Energy Technology from Tezpur University and PhD in Bio-Climatic Building Design from IIT Delhi. My research interests include thermal comfort, Bioclimatic Building Design and Sustainability, Building Energy Simulation, and the Energy Performance of Building Envelopes. My research on thermal comfort is also included in the ASHRAE Standard 55, 2017. I received the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Fellowship, the Belgian Government Postdoctoral Fellowship, and the JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship in Japan. I have worked with Prof. Richard de Dear, University of Sydney; Prof. Jacques Teller, University of Liege, Belgium; Prof. R. Ooka, The University of Tokyo, Japan; and Prof. H. B. Rijal, Tokyo City University, Japan. I have over 90 scientific publications in reputable international journals and conferences, 23 invited lectures, and a number of sponsored projects. To date, my articles have received good citations and metrics (Scopus: 3084, ResearchGate: 3887, Google Scholar: 4482), with a Scopus h-index of 30, ResearchGate h-index of 34, and Google Scholar h-index of 33. I am an editorial board member of the Taylor and Francis Journal "Advances in Building Energy Research". The journal "Advances in Building Energy Research" is one of the most recognized scientific journals in building energy research, Indoor Environment Quality, Thermal comfort, and human behaviour and interaction with the indoor and outdoor built environment. I am also the Guest Editor of the special issues of the Sustainability and Energies journal and Review Editor of Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering, Frontiers in Built Environment, and Frontiers in Energy Research Journals. So far, I have co-supervised 8 M.Tech. Thesis and presently supervising 1 PhD student. I am a member of ASHRAE Technical Committee 7.6: Built Environment Performance and ASHRAE Technical Committee 4.10: Indoor Environmental Modeling, and a reviewer of ASHRAE Handbook 2027.
