About
I am currently placed as an assistant professor in chemical engineering department, BITS Pilani, Pilani campus . Previously, I was working as a senior scientist in R&D division of Filtrex Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Marmon Waters, which has been acquired by the famous Berkshire-Hathaway group and with Tech Mahindra Pvt. Ltd. , as a senior filtration engineer, where I offered technical consultancy to GE appliances, Proctor and Gamble and Pepsico.
I completed my PhD and M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in the year 2018 and 2013, respectively. I completed my B.Tech from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata in the year 2011.
My research expertise includes, Filtration technology, Groundwater and wastewater treatment, Novel adsorbent synthesis, Membrane synthesis and fabrication in flat sheet and hollow fiber module, Material engineering, Polymer chemistry, Catalysis, Numerical modelling and simulation, Design and scale up, Analytical measurements and Environmental management.
The different products which I had developed are, Polymeric and liquid water softeners, Novel carbon based adsorbents for water purification, Cost effective fluoride, arsenic and heavy metal removal filters, Novel and cost effective nixed matrix membranes for groundwater and wastewater purification, Polymeric hollow fibers and flat sheet membranes for water filtration, Non ionic surfactant catalyst for pre-concentration of thymol, Shower filter medium, Aesthetic handles for home appliances, Water leak detection unit for household, UV embedded drinking water purification systems, Micro-contaminant detection unit for refrigeration appliances and Inline detection unit for starch measurement.
I have experiences of site engineering, onsite experiences to US, Germany and Spain for research and industrial oriented works. I have submitted 5 patents (4 US and 1 Indian), 13 publications in international refereed journals, 11 conference proceedings and 5 national and international awards.
