Dr. Alok Mishra is a highly accomplished researcher in the field of biotechnology, specializing in cancer immunotherapy. With a distinguished academic background, he holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, one of India's premier research institutes. Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Mishra has received numerous prestigious fellowships and awards. He completed his M.Sc. in Biotechnology from the esteemed Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Mumbai, and B.Sc. from the University of Delhi, India. Following his Ph.D., he pursued a postdoctoral fellowship in the HHMI laboratory of Michael R. Green, a renowned scientist who made significant discoveries in eukaryotic mRNA splicing. Dr. Mishra is a Research Scientist in the Department of Hematopoietic Biology and Malignancy at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, TX, USA. Dr. Mishra's research primarily focuses on developing innovative immunotherapeutic approaches for drug-resistant and metastatic gynaecological cancers, aiming to improve patient outcomes and reduce mortality rates. Notably, he has made a pioneering contribution in identifying novel regulators of immune checkpoints and exploring the therapeutic potential of the Glycosylphosphatidylinositol pathway for treating ovarian cancer. Dr. Mishra's groundbreaking work led to the filing of two US patents with Michael Green, and he continues to work towards formulating these discoveries for the treatment of drug-resistant ovarian cancer. Beyond his research endeavours, Dr. Mishra is a prolific author with numerous research papers, review articles, and book chapters published in prestigious journals and open-access books. He has often served as a corresponding author for his scholarly contributions. Dr. Mishra is also a certified reviewer for several high-impact journals, having reviewed over 30 research and review articles in various scientific publications. He further contributes to the scientific community by working as an associate editor or guest editor for prestigious biomedical research journals, including PLOS One and Vaccines.
