SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chiba University, National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology CSIR, Madurai Kamaraj University, Tunghai University
About
Balaraman Vedhanarayanan obtained his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University (India). He obtained his Ph.D. degree from AcSIR, CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (India). After acquiring the Ministry of Science and Technology(MOST) fellowship, he worked as a MOST-Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Chemistry, College of Science, Tunghai University, Taiwan from 2017 to 2021. In 2020, he has been awarded the prestigious ‘JSPS Post-Doctoral Fellowship’ from the ‘Japan Society for the Promotion of Science' for his credits. His research is focused on self-assembled functional hybrid materials of carbon allotropes and extended π-systems (oligomers and polymers), organic-inorganic hybrids of 2D materials, and functional molecules/conducting & redox-active polymers for various applications including smart surfaces (superhydrophobic coatings), energy conversion (hydrogen & oxygen evolution reactions and ammonia production), and energy storage devices (hybrid supercapacitors and nonaqueous/aqueous metal-ion & all-organic batteries).
