Ph.D in Biochemistry ( Plant Tissue culture) from National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India awarded by the University of Pune (1991)
Diploma in Bamboo Technnology, China National Bamboo Research Centre, Hangchow, PR China ( 2002)
Joined as Scientist at the Kerala Forest Research Institute, Peechi, Thrissur, India.
Retired as Chief Scientist and Programme Coordinator, Forest Genetics and Biotechnology Division.
Research interests: Forest tree biotechnology ( Micropropagation of woody plants, DNA barcoding of plants, photoautotrophic micropropagation, bioreactors, low cost micropropagation); Bamboo and Rattan germplasm collection, propagation, nursery and plantation management; Certification of quality planting material in Bamboo and Accreditation of Bamboo nurseries; Bamboo edible shoot processing and storage; Tools for bamboo management and harvesting.
