Rachan is an STS research scholar working with science communication, biodiversity and wildlife conservation. His research interest areas are mainly- public engagement with science and technology, public understanding of science, grassroots innovation, and public engagement with science of biodiversity and wildlife conservation.
At present, he is more interested to work in nature conservation to explore his communication knowledge. His Ph.D. work investigates the relationship between conservation scientists and laypeople signifying effective nature conservation.
