About
I am a postdoctoral researcher at HEC Liege--Management School of the University of Liege and Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. I work with Prof Nathalie Crutzen and Prof Martin de Jong. We are looking at questions of governance, inclusion, and institutions in smart cities. Our research focus spans cities in India and in Europe.
I received my PhD in Public Policy in November 2023, jointly awarded by IIT Bombay and Monash University, Melbourne. My thesis is titled 'Whose Smart Cities? Management Consultants, Governance, and Inclusion in India's Smart Cities Mission'. Following my PhD I was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Public Policy, IIT Bombay.
As a researcher in the realm of public policy, governance, and public management, I am interested in exploring the intersections of technology, governance, inclusion, and urban development. With a focus on smart cities, privatisation of governance, consultocracy, and the use of digital technologies in urban governance, my work aims to unravel the complexities of modern urban landscapes and propose innovative solutions for sustainable and inclusive development.
Key words: smart cities; India's Smart Cities Mission; privatisation of governance; digitalisation of governance; surveillance; gender.
