Sayak Chakraborty
Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences, Indian Centre for Space Physics, Amity University Kolkata, Dinabandhu Andrews College
About
Mr. Sayak Chakraborty is presently a Senior Project Associate (Postdoctoral Fellow) under the Aditya-L1 Support Cell, a joint venture of ISRO and ARIES. He is affiliated with the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital. His primary research interest lies in ionospheric physics, particularly the response of the D-region ionosphere to solar flares and other solar-induced disturbances. He specializes in the analysis of sub-ionospheric Very Low Frequency (VLF) signal propagation and develops both observational and modeling approaches to investigate ionospheric variability. His work contributes to understanding space weather effects on Earth’s near-space environment, with implications for radio communication and navigation systems. He is actively involved in collaborative research projects and has published in peer-reviewed international journals. Mr. Chakraborty also mentors students and contributes to science outreach.
