Ayisha Hashmi is a pharmacist, researcher, academician and healthcare management professional with expertise in clinical research operations, public health, implementation research, project management and medical writing. She currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Cyntax Health Projects, Pakistan's DRAP-registered Contract Research Organization (CRO), where she leads organisational operations, oversees multidisciplinary research programmes and manages strategic partnerships with national and international collaborators.
She holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Pharmacy Practice from Hamdard University Islamabad and has extensive experience in coordinating clinical research, implementation science projects, regulatory affairs, health systems research, biostatistics and scientific communication. Alongside her role at Cyntax Health Projects, she has served as a faculty member in pharmacy education, contributing to teaching, curriculum development and research supervision.
As COO, Ayisha Hashmi provides leadership in project planning, research coordination, quality management, regulatory compliance, budget oversight and stakeholder engagement. She has successfully managed national and international projects involving clinical trials, implementation research, antimicrobial resistance, pharmacovigilance, tobacco harm reduction, women's health, menstrual health and dignity, digital health, health policy and health systems strengthening. She plays a central role in ensuring the timely delivery of research programmes while maintaining compliance with international ethical and regulatory standards.
Ayisha has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications in pharmacy practice, public health, antimicrobial stewardship, health policy, menstrual health, tobacco control and health services research. Her research focuses on generating evidence to strengthen healthcare systems, improve health outcomes and support evidence-informed policy and practice in low- and middle-income countries.
