About
Dr. Ayesha Hakim has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Massey University, New Zealand. She joined the University of Auckland as a Research Specialist, Waikato Institute of Technology (WINTEC) as a Lecturer, and then Assistant Professor in Computer Science at School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). She is currently working as Professor of Computing at University of Agriculture, Pakistan. She is the academic lead and focal person of a tech startup, SMARTRAPS, an AI and IoT-based device for flying insect surveillance. She is a member of the UNESCO Chair for Low Carbon and Sustainable Agriculture and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Her research interests include Data Science, IoT, and Machine Learning in Precision Agriculture.
